What to Expect When Going To Treatment
In this post Covid 19 era of living where we are facing the challenge of going back to work and sending our children back to school and leaving our masks behind, some of us have come to realize that we have developed a dependence upon alcohol or other substances to help us manage our anxiety, depression, fear, etc. Being isolated in our homes has presented us with a great deal of unwanted time to ruminate upon thoughts and memories and past traumas that we happily distracted ourselves from with our occupations.

Two years ago, I was in a fight for my life, and nobody knew it.
I’ve hated myself for as long as I can remember. To say that I had low self esteem wouldn’t even scratch the surface of the amount of self-loathing I had. Why I was the way I was really isn’t as important as what came to be.

The Lost Years
I vividly remember the day my life stopped. It runs through my head often. Moment by moment. The accelerated heart rate. The heat and sweat washing over me. The phone calls. The questions. The waiting. So much waiting. I think about the cost of rewriting history. I think about all the variables that could have shifted that day, but despite my overactive imagination, I can’t seem to bring him back.

Why are you like this?
About eight years ago, my cousin told me that she'd been diagnosed with ADHD. She'd been medicated. It had been transformative, transcendental for her: she realised that this is what it must be like for other people, she said, to concentrate, to focus, to not lose things or forget they exist once out of your sight, to have the mental clarity of one's best days almost every day instead of as a rare treat.

Stress-Buster tips
I don't know anybody who has woken up in the morning, and the day turns into such a nightmare, that they wish they had never woken up. You know the days I am talking about; those days when you wake up with a smile and by the afternoon we feel exhausted, and like we have aged before our time. Many of us both young and old have been here. You might be coping with work, children, housework, illness, and family drama! Now there is that word 'family drama!' the one issue that makes us all want to disappear into a vortex, never to be found again. I don't know about you, but in the evening, I want to put the television on and relax, however just to stress me out further, the news suddenly shows something that makes me feel annoyed and I want to throw my television out!

4 Ways to Overcome Depression
Depression can negatively affect our privacy, work and sense of importance. It comes swiftly, sometimes gradually, the way the weather changes. So much sometimes it is arduous to see anything else than the cloud that surrounds us, this unavoidable aura.

Living with a Narcissist
Life with a narcissist, the beginning of the loss of your independence and freethinking. She’s witty, she’ll do it slow. A small bit of poison every day. A frog would never know if you were boiling them alive if you did it one degree at a time.
