Grief 101 Moving is not the same as moving on.
I share my stories based on my personal journey since the death of my husband of 40 years. My experience is not everyone's but there are many widows and widowers who can relate. Today I feel like an empty park bench that needs someone to sit on it to be complete. I am moving and doing and going but definitely not moving on.

Hurry Up & Wait!
To you this does concern (see what I did there?), I left you hanging with the last letter. I felt like I was losing your attention. But there’s a reason why I didn’t give you everything in one shot. It’s more of a building block theory. I give you a single piece, allow you to observe, calculate and place. Then give you another. Never Enough
You shouldn’t do this. With my eyes flitting between the three, small, white index cards clutched in my pale hand and the dull padding of my dress shoes as they step in and out of the brown and beige tile squares that comprise my high school’s tile floor, I resist the urge to return to the bathroom. You’re going to look like an imbecile. They are going to hate you. Back and forth I walk, not aware of my own pacing, as I attempt to concentrate on the story I had just read. What are they going to think of your idea? Is it too much? Too stupid? You're too stupid.

Are You Dealing with the Guilt and Shame of Alcoholism
An Alcoholic's Nightmare I awoke with a start, a bit groggy and a lot hung-over. As I tried to recall the events of the night before, I felt a vague memory of a car wreck slipping into my consciousness. A sense of dread descended on me like a storm cloud enveloping a mountain peak. The dread turned to fear, and I hurried to dress and go out the back door to the driveway. I had to look at my car! I had to know for sure!
