Coronavirus: A real monster or hoax

With the onset of 21st century, the world fell prey to the clutches of many horrible diseases, but when it comes to pervasiveness and lethality, Covid19 tops the chart. With its prevalence on almost all the habitable continents, it has affected all sectors of human life. The most under pressure sector appears to be the medical field. Health professionals are more prone to the contagion as they directly deal with the patients who are suffering from Covid19 and serve as carriers. They also have to witness the horrendous scenes of people dying of this monster. It has, to the larger extent, changed the entire lifestyle of the people all over the world.

The number of Covid affectees surged steeply as it was not taken seriously at the very beginning. With the first death reported in Wuhan, China in 2019, it soon pervaded Europe, North & South America, Asia and finally devastated the already downtrodden population of Africa. Despite all guile and guts, the world pharmaceutical experts failed to manufacture a medicine that can effectively cure the Coronavirus patients. However, after hectic efforts vaccine was developed to prevent the unchecked spread of Covid19.Vaccine was administered to the citizen of resource rich countries at first and afterwards, its doses were donated to the impoverished ones.

Scores of people lost their lives to this Virus and ultimately death tool raised to millions, with most deaths in United States of America. The reason for swift spread of Coronavirus in US was attributed to weak immune system resulting from the excessive consumption of alcohol. India stood second with respect to deaths as the indigenous population did not follow the Standard Operating Procedures devised to contain the increase in the number of patients. Number of deaths in India inflated as charlatans tried to get the patients convalesced through their traditional medication. Further, shortage of oxygen supplies added fuel to the fire. Resultantly, government took coercive measures to enforce Covid19 related protocols. Lookdown was imposed to make people stay at home.

There are no two opinions that Coronavirus added to the miseries of people especially underprivileged ones, inhabiting the third world countries. The people who already have health issues given the paucity of health facilities, Cronavirus played havoc with the quotidian activities of such masses. Health problems coupled with economic issues left people helpless in this era of technology and artificial intelligence. Restricted movement in the lockdown times multiplied the plight of daily wagers and those living below the poverty line. The human beings are bound to suffer in terms of health, economy and socially due to the perilous effects of Corona pandemic.

Health is invaluable blessing of Almighty. Healthy body serves as lynchpin in all activities being carried out by homo sapiens. It is also a fact that inequitable distribution of resources has greatly contributed to the whooping number of deaths in countries with exiguous health facilities. Health infrastructure in developed countries was instrumental in coping with the challenge put forward by the Coronavirus. Undoubtedly, some countries with advanced health technology had a leading role in doling out vaccine doses to the people who did not owe the capacity to purchase the vaccine from the market.

Without mooting further, it can rightly be concluded that attitudinal issues served as the driving force for rapid increase of Corona cases in the world. If severity of the matter had been taken into account at the very initial stage, the number of patients and deaths would have been reduced to a greater extent.
