Outside of a little town

Inside a teeny-tiny cottage

With flowers all around

Lives a woman of unfixed age

Toothless

Penniless

With her sleek, black cat

They set out the welcome mat

Sweeping it clean with her broom

The blossoms are all in full bloom

Perfumey

Rheumy

With blue eyes grown weak

She knows just what you seek

Over the fire sits a pot of tea

Brewed up fresh daily

Satisfied

Bonafide

Such a kindly soul

Friendship is her only goal

Her words are never harsh

Even though money is sparse

Old crone

Ten stone

Patiently she waits

To tell people their fates

Preparing her quaint home

As the cat sits in the brome

You really have a talent for setting a scene and bringing the reader into a whimsical world with your poetry. As I read this I felt my blood pressure drop and the my stress level come down. It took me back to my childhood when I was sick for weeks and would read my old Childcraft book of poems over and over.

Loved it. So, she is not a witch, but a good old woman?

Another outstanding little poem, MC! ❤️ Haha, I'm always interested in the mystical seers for characters. There's always a lot going on with their power and how they use it. I'd probably stop by Yoona's cottage a lot just to say hi and bask in the magic of the place for a while, lol. :)

  • Oooo, rheumy was a new word for me. I would go visit just to play with her cat hehehehe. Loved your poem!
