Oooo, this was so awesomeeee! It worked so well both ways!
Well done, Mike. This makes me think of a time when the family of a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in town wanted me to assist with the funeral. I wasn't allowed to take part in the service inside the sanctuary (MSL church polity), but the pastor thought it would be okay if I conducted the graveside, even though the graveyard belonged to the church. After the service he turned to me & said, "You're okay." I responded by saying, "Well at least we can agree on one thing: we're both wrong." That assertion caught him up short. He asked, "What do you mean?" I answered, "No matter what language we use to describe God, we always fall short. God is always more." He thought about that for a moment, then nodded his head as we left the cemetery together.
