We Need More Humor And Fun In The Sun In Our Lives Right Now
Does laughter and SAD lamps help you during this time of the year!
Everyone is affected by the pandemic! Just everyone ick. No one is exempt and that just makes me sick. That is why I decided to write a short story about how we may get some relief. Let's start with the whole social distancing thing and my belief. Six feet apart is hard to do with a loved one.
I started hug therapy in my late twenties, early thirties and what happened is that I went from a no hug family to a hugging family with in-laws that hug everyone. What we do will often ripple out and encourage others to hug, and it may even be just one.
So, I think maybe I will hug the ones I spend the most time with as if they get covid-19 I probably will too, even without hugs. For me it was the hugs, not drugs that got me in the first place. I thought if hugs were better than drugs for me, why not try hugs before drugs, it was right there in my face. And it worked. And a counselor gave me a book with bears. Those bears gave all different kinds of hug demonstrations with lots of tips of taking cares.
Then last year after learning about the importance of being socially distanced I bought a SAD lamp, and really paid pennies for. I am in the house way more than ever before. This little lamp is not the $400. version of years ago, it cost no more than $40. or so. Okay, so maybe you can hear the rhyme here. I am at the end of A Poem A Day In February, on my Facebook page.
We had one contest so far and 9 winners, and it was all the rage. Three won big and 6 got consolation prizes, the day after Valentines day. This week we are having another contest with nonsense poetry, and they can submit 2 entries by noon on Friday. Writing as many as they wish each day and today.
Now, exercise is another important thing we can do, during this time in our life. I was up to 12 minutes on the treadmill, and it is causing me some strife. The hubby says, up the speed and I say I was going to up the minutes you go ahead, be the example and lead. We compromised and I am upping the minutes and the speed. 15 minutes this week and I will get to 3.0 on the speed and maybe not, just ignore the greed.
We shall see if maybe I could. I lift 5-pound weights to work on my arms and that is okay for now if I would. I upped the reps on those too after lifting a two-year-old for three days, just because I should.
With A Poem A Day In February, I am having so much fun laughing with this and at the same time crying. Healing is what it does for me. I can clearly see. Laughter and tears are so important for me and you too, during this time of transition. I have a mission. Mentioning these healing tips whenever and wherever I can. That is me man.
Speak the positives in your writing and posts in social media, and in person. Try not to do anything that may bring any more to someone’s situation to worsen. My friend has two funerals this week, another friend is struggling as her husband died from covid-19 six months ago. I know what this means to lose loved ones and have others go.
The final thing I would like to say is to try to be kind and stay positive. Remember, everyone is having some difficulty during this time and if you have time give. A smile, a kind word, a small gift. We can all do our part to give the world a lift.
