Questions for the Little Dipper

Source: sleepy drafts
I count 4am stars over
the dashboard glow of our metal box and sounds of
incomprehensible heartbreak
bleeding through the stereo...
I look for the constellations that will map us out
explain the buttons
decipher the lyrics.
They're shrouded in clouds,
always moving
until they're out of sight
and I'm waiting for another night to fall
and for the dashboard to light up once more.
This time, I change the song.

Fabulous really great poetry โฆ๏ธโฆ๏ธโฆ๏ธ
I loved the metaphors you used here. The mechanics of the car against the romanticism of the stars and that last line cutting through it to show a change. Great stuff.
Gorgeous, introspective, and utterly contemplativeโamazing poetry!!
The automotive version of Mariann's "Goodnight My Someone" from "The Music Man".
That was so deep and your last line was hard hitting. Loved your poem!
