‘Lilith’ by John Collier, 1889
Maybe I knew you in another life…
Like how the snake knew Lilith’s curves…
Or how Collier knew Lilith.

Wow, I how this poem is so short but answered the mystery of the past.
"Knew" carries so much weight here, particularly in the old Biblical sense, which ties so nicely into Adam and Eve etc. Subtly done👏
Fabulously-written Em! I've missed you on here my friend!
Perhaps. But alas, only in my dreams.
Lovely, lovely, Em <3
Such a gorgeous, sensual piece!
Gorgeous lilting verse that beautifully follows the coils and curves of the painting.
This reminded me of the red string theory but this one is across different lifetimes. Loved your poem!
I love this. Short but memorable. I just looked mesmerized by your cover photo and thought 'wow, there must have been one helluva party in 1889!' ⚡💙⚡
