Spontaneity

A poem

By Chelsea DeVriesPublished 23 minutes ago 1 min read

Strawberry banana pancakes

Tres Leche

Butter pecan syrup

Splitting a combo

I'm telling you about my middle school boyfriends

Under the bright lights of a pancake house

I'd never been to

You look at me with such wonder

And grown man charm

I feel as incredibly beautiful as a rare

Art piece in A gallery

God's finest masterpiece

You ask me to read another book with you

And I wonder how of all the

hours I spent

Hellbent on understanding men

By reading romantic literature

And here you sit across from me

A romantic character

Who admires me for all that I am and was,

And may still be

Safety and spontaneity combine

You text me when I get home:You are so incredibly beautiful 😍
