Five cats playing cards

Betting fish chips and catnip

Winner takes it all

🐟

Place your antes now

Divvying up for five card claw

Game is dealer’s choice

🃏

Red dueces wild

Nothing beats a Meow Flush

Jokers in the deck

💰

Each poker face playing

The best hand which is dealt them

The goal is the pot

🪙

Meeting every week

For a friendly poker game

Feline card sharks bluff

🐈‍⬛

Friends from the alley

Strengthening their bonds weekly

Late into the night

🐈

Memories recalled

Laughing over some warm cream

Should pass on the herb

🌿

Nibbling on the chips

Drunkenly raising their bets

Hoping someone folds

🎉

With the bankroll bet

The showdown will soon be done

Until the next week

🥂

The will start again

The dealer passing out cards

And bets being made

A/N:

This is inspired by Andrew and his writing, whom pens haikus gorgeously, telling such grand stories with his poetry.

I've had this image for awhile, and knew I wanted to write something about it. I couldn't think of what medium I wanted to use. After reading one of Andrew's Haiku Stories, I knew what medium to use.

So cute & clever… my cat would eat the fish & chips, but doesn’t care for catnip. The artwork is hilarious.

Great photo and poetry to go along!!😉❤️

  • I gotta "hand" it to you, Mother, I do believe you've let the "cat" out of the bag here. So now we know that when we can't find them, they're just out for a little "nip" with their friends down the "alley".

I’m loving these CATKUS — extra points for cat related content 😆 Great job. The creativity but also the glow of words for the story was very well done 👏

  • This reminded me of your story where all the cats had the same name. I forgot what name was it. Sam, I think? Wait, now I'm wondering if they were even cats, lol. But I hope you know which one I'm talking about. I loved your Haikus!

Lol. Loved the poem! Also nice to see several haiku telling the story. I always knew cats played poker when we weren't looking.

  • Tuna's my fave. And this poem rocks, Sharon.

A total delight! This haiku is pawsitively purrfect—charming and clever. I’m now low-key rooting for a Meow Flush in real life. 💖
