They call me

‘Mary’…

‘Hairy Mary’…

for very

obvious reasons.

True, I’m no beauty

But, you won’t forget me!

Along quiet bush tracks

you stroll as

we crawl bumper to bumper

head to tail,

Real traffic jam style.

A procession of

ebony bodies

sporting tufty white hairs.

Still think

Who cares?

One brief brush with our snowy coats

will liven your footwork.

That’s our quirk

to make you itch and scratch like a monkey.

Leave us alone and you’ll soon see

We’re not out to hurt you

We’re just on our way to a better day

With wings to fly

Off, up into the sky.
