These Walls III
These walls, know all of those who are inside, and all of those who are not, but only those who are inside know that these walls even stand at all.
These walls‐
only those inside, know that they stand
and only those who have received an invite know that they even exist.
Of course, these walls know all who stand within them‐
every footstep is recognized, both inside and out.
Each and every of these walls,
have their own pair of ears,
and every door,
it's own set of eyes.
These walls‐
they, listen to both the inside and out
every word is recorded.
These walls‐
they decide, who is invited in,
and who isn't‐
not me.
These walls‐
they think,
and they speak
for themselves.
These walls‐
they choose who may enter,
and who may not‐
not me.
These walls‐
have no bias,
no fickle feelings to be tossed around by,
to and fro‐
they know what footsteps should, and shouldn't be‐
and what voices should, and shouldn't be played aloud.
These walls‐
their cold judgement keeps me,
"safe"
from those who don't know they exist,
and from those who shouldn't know they exist
from the outsiders
and the few who want to tear them down,
These walls‐
they draw the lines of needed boundaries
bold, and firm
just as they need to be‐
clear, and clean cut
and placed exactly as they should.
Whomever is inside, pays their respect to these walls
they know where they should,
and shouldn't go
what does,
and what does not help‐
what to and not to say
and they know not to spill the confidentialities in these walls.
These walls‐
have fallen
and been rebuilt,
taller...
and taller...
and taller, but‐
only the insiders know that they are.
These walls‐
know that they are,
and know what they are‐
they know where and how they stand‐
and‐
I'm honestly not so sure where I'd be, if it weren't for these walls.
About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.

Walls, like Western barbed wire fencing, keeping the livestock inside and alive, and the vermin, thieves and rustlers, outside, we're commonplace, reasonable and necessary. And what has changed is our necessary reasonableness.
Walls that surround our realities are breakable but can be repaired
