Shove them aside
Close the door
They come knocking
Give in and write
Scattershot phrases
Few rhymes, little reason
Take them from the wilds
Cage them in pages
Pencils down

Earworms burrow out
From some deep core
Seeds of truth and lies
Both make great stories
Trap them in a moleskin bag
Tie with a silken string
Toss it in the nightstand
