The Sedoka is an unrhymed poem made up of two three-line katauta with the following syllable counts: 5/7/7, 5/7/7. A Sedoka, pair of katauta as a single poem, may address the same subject from differing perspectives.

For some reason, the poem "Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley came to mind and it is a favourite of mine that was set to music by Jean Jaques Burnel of The Stranglers which I have included in this piece as well. Originally this was just going to be a senryū (which you can read about below) then decided on the sedoka form that Loryne Andawey introduced me to.
I have decided to format and screenshot my poems so the look the way I want them to as the Vocal editor does not allow text alignment yet.

Silver Screen Magic with Mae West
American actress and singer Mae West became a popular film actress during the Great Depression. She started entertaining in vaudeville, then performed on Broadway, and finally went to Hollywood. She signed up with Paramount Pictures and made her debut in the 1932 film “Night After Night.” She also starred in musicals, comedies, and crime dramas. The American Film Institute named her one of the best classic Hollywood actresses.
