Legend has it
There’s a golden rose
That if you can find it,
And give it to your steadfast love
Then they’ll be yours forever
So I set out to find the golden rose
I traveled near and far
To find one to give to my love
I looked high and low
Under and over
I was just deciding that
The golden rose was just a myth
When I saw a golden glow
From the least expected place
Up ahead and under a sycamore tree
I found that which I was looking for
So, I found one that
Was just starting to bud
And I picked a golden rose
For my true love
I headed back to see
If the legend were true, you see
To find my true love in the arms of another
Was the last thing I desired
So I guess it was all a myth after all

Another beautiful poem! Well done!🥰
This is a beautiful piece, and I love that artwork.
I would have taken that beautiful rose for myself and left my “true love” high and dry. What a sad and unexpected ending! Very well told.
Wow, just a totally storyteller!!!!!!
I would have shoved that rose up his nose! Take that! Okay I gotta calm down. Loved your poem!

Great poetry and photo
I searched & searched until I found it. Alas, it was already in her hands, gifted to her by another.
