The Endless River

A Journey In Verse For A Muse

By Mike Singleton 💜 Mikeydred Published 4 years ago 1 min read
The Gates to Argonath by tanuhka62 on wallpaper.com

This is a poem for my Muse, vaguely stimulated by the giant statues in Tolkein’s “Lord of the Rings”, Pink Floyd’s “The Endless River” (hence The Title) and a little marine mysticism.

Here You Are, Sailing This Endless River

On A Craft Of Your Imagination

The Giant God Statues There Forever

Always Guarding Your Realm And Your Nation

🐚🧜‍♀️🗽🐬🌊

In The River Sea Nymphs Follow Always

Mermaids gently touching your Mind and Heart

You May Ride This River For All Your Days

Then In Your Palace You Will Make Your Art

🐚🧜‍♀️🗽🐬🌊

On Your Dragon Ship Like A Viking Queen

You Rule Over Your Realm, The Ocean Green

The Endless River Arrived At The Sea

The Giant Gods Have Seen That You Stayed Free

Here You Will Now Sit On Your Half Shell Throne

Your Palace Of Art Now You Will Call Home

Beautiful imagery of nymphs and mermaids where you sit on your half shell throne... well written poem!

  • The river never stops, though some of us enjoy planting ourselves in the riverbed like a rock or fallen tree, creating new currents.
