The contrast between the raging storm and Grandma’s embrace is stunning. You’ve captured the warmth of love that even death can’t erase.

That's two very distinct, and well-wrought, haunted haikus! The loving embrace of grandmothers, nevertheless, dispels the fiercest hells!

  • I love how grandma was and still is a source of comfort/protection.

Oh Jason, this was both blissful and scary. Cheers to grammas everywhere.

🖤Aww, this made me tear up. In only 3 lines you managed to bring the presence of my own grandma to the room.

Ooh, I'm flitting between comfort and threat here, it can work either way!

I saw the old lady. I naively thought she wasn’t going to be a problem. Someone that I should be afraid of. Then… this was chilling. I had to read it again because I guess I like to hate being scared lol. In other words this was fantastic. The black and white image also made sense after reading. To the point where I didn’t even notice it was black and white at first. Or rather… didn’t think it would matter later. You made everything count and I love this for that 🤗♥️

That’s tender and beautifully haunting! Sometimes love lingers longer than the body ever could. ✨

  • Awww, this was so touching and bittersweet. Loved it so much!

Makes me think of my Gramma and how she had these ways of easing fears when I was a child... like turning over the pillow to the "good dream" side after having a nightmare. Grandmas are just comforting that way. Great haiku!

Comforting, but then again, maybe not? I really like this one, JB!

Even though this has ghostly vibes to it, it’s in such a sweet way. Reminds us that our loved ones are never really gone. 💜 Well done.
