The cycle of opposites

An inverse poem

By Katherine D. GrahamPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

The French say ''plus ca change, plus c'est la même chose'

Everything and action leads to nothing.

Possessions, material things, are often sought as a symbol of power.

Possessions are obtained by chance, sacrifice, dedication or determination.

Seeking possessions can inspire and require irrational work.

Acquiring possessions can be an active quest with an uncertain reward.

Objects of desire or sought after pleasures can cause and result in cravings.

Carvings can lead to greed and hoarding.

Cravings for the wished for object or emotion can disappear.

Sometimes dreams unite with reality in the active stillness.

Logically assessing need, and releasing excess, can lead to generosity.

Having no possessions offers a nonmaterial power

No action and nothing leads to everything.

The Germans say 'plus c'est la même chose, plus ca change'.
