September is here and for some it's back to school time unless from my past we started mid to late August. Back to basics allowing us to learn or review
Red Rose in the Rain The red rose bends beneath the rain its petals whisper of silent pain I hold it close yet feel the cold
The summer field on fire It was nothing but a cigarette butt tossed careless into summer grass a spark that curled in silence
Waiting for Mummy He waits in the garden all alone paws pressed soft upon the grass eyes fixed high where clouds drift by
The Devils Poet The poem sat breathing on the desk its letters swelled with blood a red rose dripped across the page its roots drank smoke and mud
The Birds of Secret Song Two birds upon a branch of green their eyes have caught what none have seen one sings of love, one sings of night
The Dress of Living Light She walks where shadows linger long yet every step becomes a song her gown a blaze of petal flame
The Burning Rose A rose was born from storm and flame not bound to earth, nor touched by name its petals glowed with endless fire
Woe betide the eternal grey, grey for so long, darkness ev'ry day, it seems impossible not to succumb, to this dreary way.

Mum’s One Eyed Disaster My mum’s in love with one eyed jack next door A dirty creep with a face flatter than a door He grins at her like he owns the street
