An ode to Mother Nature; poems that take their inspiration from the great outdoors.
Star-kissed
The stars kissed him. He drew his hand back, all at once freezing and burning up, because despite the added space, the void in between them, he knew if he got any closer he’d be consumed. Overwhelmed by the unforgiving flames that allowed them to shine so bright. So he watched from a distance, shivering and admiring the stars as they shimmered. Until he could no longer feel his hand where the stars had kissed him, too numb to even reach out for them. And the frost crept up his arm and stilled the fluttering of his heart, until he wondered why he kept watching.
