Sycamore Trees

Swaying in the breeze

By Chris SienerPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
Multi-toned tree trunks symbolizing the diversity of us all

As I rest on a bed in a bright, airy cabin

with my wife of thirty years

sleepiness is settling in.

However, before succumbing to the land of zzz,

I look onto the vaulted ceiling and this is what I see.…

.

Sycamore leaves swaying in lakeside breeze

Palmate canopies forming sunshine shadows

dancing in a shadow dance of rustling

acoustic alchemies from with these stoic trees

These same trees that bring forth clarity in sight

While appreciating the diversity of life

with camouflage colors of black, white, and shades of gray

as we should live our life, with love for all, in a similar way.

Eagles nest high in forked branches of this sycamore tree offering views of river and land

These same trees that connect water with land

Shoreside stately strong trunked stands

symbolizing the threshold of life and death

as we live our life to the very last breath

Loved it. I respect odes to trees. Just published one on sycamore too.
