My Boyfriend Wrote This Poem In Two Minutes
Colors of the Wind
Have you ever taken time to see
The risen Sun birth from the East,
The shades of Orange, Gold, and Pink
The setting Sun before we sleep,
The shriveled leaf that turned from green,
Or merky Ocean of Manatee.
Perhaps in darkness is all you dream,
Or do you soar with Eagles over yellow beak?
The Rainbow Trout swims up the creek,
While the Brown Bear waits to catch its feast,
Wood Pecker pecks, and Cardinals sing,
Owl hoots, the breeze blows the trees,
So much in cadence they almost swing
The sounds of Summer, Fall, and Spring
The chilling of the Winter breeze,
Poplar cracking beneath the red hot beam
Reflection dancing off the creek,
Wake up ashamed it was just a dream.
I am prone to agonizing over my writing for days on end, but my man can channel rhymes like a virtuoso. He heard about the Color Poetry Challenge long ago and wrote this in a matter of minutes. I was brand new to the platform at that time and didn't get to post it as an entry, but I wish I had because his nature inspired colors are beautiful, classic and dreamy.
