Instructions for the New Cat
And as I sit here with Andi curled up next to me I can’t help but think that we saved each other and that maybe...just maybe Jimi sent him a message. “It’s time. Take care of her. Kiss her forehead. Remind her every day that she is loved. Comfort her when she cries. Be her pillow and tissue when she needs you. Make her laugh. Her laugh is the most beautiful sound you will ever hear. And love the boy. He takes care of her in ways you can’t. But always, always be there for her. Even when it seems like she doesn’t need you. She does. And together you will mend.
