in and out of dreams

and the places in between

i color in the lines of time

or release myself from their confine

i sketch and stretch my mind

i shade truth into metaphor

i sculpt worlds from imagination

i climb ideas like mountains

stumbling until i reach a peak

i rearrange the lines

until they paint the scene in my mind

i play hide and seek with reality

i dream of worlds we could create

this time,

i outline rest and restitution;

the possibilities in pausing,

the necessity of justice

i redefine this life of mine,

use my pen for compassion,

& leave pages for the voiceless

as i gaze into a mirror

i find hope looking back

it is us

dreaming of a world that is just

for all of us

inspirational
