In “The House That Breathes,” I explore how abandoned spaces act as vessels of memory, capturing grief, love, and fear long after human presence has vanished. By personifying the house, the haiku blurs the line between animate and inanimate, suggesting that memory and emotion persist independently of life. This interpretation not only conveys a sense of eerie intimacy but also invites consideration of cultural and psychological understandings of haunting — how architecture itself can reflect collective human experience.
