Standing on the Moon
I danced on dust beneath my feet,
The silence warm, the hush complete.
A silver hush, a gentle glow.
No wind, no weight, no need to know.
The stars leaned in, they knew my name,
They shimmered soft, they played no game.
I reached my hand, and light poured through,
A calm beyond what day could do.
The craters sang in quiet tone,
I felt at once both small and known.
Each breath was slow, each moment wide.
No fear to fight, no need to hide.
A ribbon path of starlit thread
Unwound itself beneath my tread.
It led me where the comets spin,
And planets whispered, “Come begin.”
No clock, no rules, no ticking sound,
Just boundless hush, no edge, no ground.
I laughed, I leapt, I soared so far.
One fingertip brushed past a star.
And then my pillow caught my cheek.
A voice downstairs. The kettle’s squeak.
The stars had gone, the moon was too,
But in my chest, it all felt true.

What a perfect dream. Good job.
Awesome!!!!
I can so relate.
Well-wrought! Luna does seem the doorway between dream and reality.
Excellent image and words and the title of one of my favourite Grateful Dead songs. This is my ropey attempt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPfOBbJMOTs
