A full moon shines on the crusty snow.
My footsteps crunch and crackle, but are
drowned out by Huskies howling.
This poem recollects my past years in Alaska, where hoar frost might cover the trees, and everyone had a dog, usually outside in a kennel or the yard, barking or howling, perhaps chained to a doghouse and sitting on top of it.

Lovely work! Such a great crafting of setting here.
I've always wanted to visit Alaska, your poem is tempting me even more!! Love it! 💌
I know that cold and that crunch. Lovely piece.
So atmospherical, Andi, gives a good idea of the feelings and spirit of the snow. I'm not a big fan of cold weather and snow but I can certainly appreciate a good verse about it.
Excellent, Andrea! It's amazing how a good writer can pack so much emotion and experience into just a few lines of verse. You have succeeded here.
