Smoke & Mirrors

You’ve got to ease in, tease them and let them think you’re fine; smoke and mirrors, so that they’re blind - from the truth,

I mean, they won’t know they’ve been duped, because they’re in their own world; their own soup - of stuff,

and they’ll want to believe that you’re tough and can handle things on your own, it’s a must - for them,

and meanwhile you’re at home, ugly crying, all alone, feeling flushed, feeling hot, tears running down with all the snot that you can muster - until you just stop,

you stop calling, stop posting, stop joking, stop telling them anything about anything; you just give up - on both you and them, because you just can’t pretend,

not anymore.

So then you ease in, until you leave them in time, smoke and mirrors so that they’re blind,

and you don’t even say goodbye.

Sometimes the smoke and mirrors have to be done, not everybody deserve to see the days you wear a crown and the days you ugly cry, the days when you feel flushed and feeling hot. The days when tears are running with all snot. Not everyone deserves to stand with you when you win and when you lose. So yes, continue to smoke and mirror them. Maybe they will realise on the day you don't say goodbye. Vanish poof! Outstanding as always Jess, sending all my love and all my hugs. I hope they reach you and stay with you 🤗❤️
