I took my heart out for a stroll
Fell deep into a rabbit hole
Read tales and poems of true love
Stories that make believes, made of
Reality, quickly pulled me back out
Blackened my eyes, bloodied my mouth
The love I found, was dark and mean
Nothing of what I thought it’d be
I understand why Alice wandered
For deeper understanding, wondered
A Cheshire cat and wild hare
The queen of hearts confounding glare
Is all the evidence I need
To deny my broken heart to bleed
Ill keep it safe, hidden away
To share it with someone, some day
Till then, time hurriedly ticks away
Reminding me, I’m running late
