A lion's face with diamond eyes

So high above your human skies

A hidden place, a deft disguise

A master's mask woven of lies

x

The fool, he fools even himself

Imagining his endless wealth

He thinks himself the king of stealth

He's stealing from his own good health

x

By buying goods already sold

Once more, we're brought into the fold

He owns these woods is what we're told

But sickness now is taking hold

x

When he falls for his fantasy

Where he's the lord of land and sea

The ground, it turns to sand and he

He falls so far that he's set free

x

He falls from grace and gets his chance

To cease, for once, his endless dance

Alas, you see, for he is proud

This sin of his, he has allowed

x

He likes the way his mind does twist

He thinks his soul is shadow-kissed

Inflation is his natural right

If you but had the gift of sight

x

You too might know his wisdom then

The sight of God wielding a pen

That's all he is, now don't you see?

An instrument - of Destiny!

x
