This was written for James & Oneg's Summer Writing Challenge Extravaganza. The prompt:
The Break Out of Your Cocoon Challenge π¦
The form I have chosen is Butterfly Cinquain, with, unusually four songs to illustrate the stages.
The Music is "Once I Was" by Tim Buckley, "Caterpillar" by The Cure, "Cuckoo Cocoon" by Genesis, and "Butterfly Dance" by Kevin Ayers and The Whole World.
Once I Was

Once A
Caterpillar
I Stopped, Became Cocoon
And Slept And Grew For A Long Time
Until
The Cocoon Split, I Spread My Wings
Beautiful Butterfly
Is What I Am
Now, Fly
