The prompt is:
Write a poem inspired by the five senses.
I have decided to just use five quatrains, one for each sense, so it is sort of a nature sonnet but not. I don't know if this is a defined poetic format, but it is a poem with rhymes and six syllables per line (if I can count correctly).

The Colours In The Sky
Shades As You Walk Along
Trees And Flowers Nearby

To Smell The Sweet Fragrance
Of Flowers In Meadows
That Makes Your Senses Dance
And Sets Your Heart Aglow

To Taste The Sweetest Wine
That Excites The Tastebuds
As It Flows O'er Your Tongue
Such Tasteful Sweetness Floods

To Hear The Dawn Chorus
And The Voice Of A Love
Sweet Birdsong To Soothe Us
In The Green Trees Above

And Hold Them Ever Close
To Hold Them, And Still Blush

Thoughts on Vocal and the way the world is
"Death cannot stop true love, only delay it." β Wesley in The Princess Bride. I decided to come back to Vocal on a very cold and dark night at the end of December. I had been, and still am, convalescing from a horrible staph infection that had gone misdiagnosed for months. This, paired with the increasing challenges of being healthy, making the best choices for my co-parented child, being a wife, and being a director at a new job, was a lot to manage.

I loved feeling and appreciating each of the senses in these lovely stanzas. My favorite line was 'to hold them, and still blush'. Aww!!!
