Musings on a train

Whistling, shrill;

A thought, a note, a thrill,

Propelling, speeding,

In motion and music.

Wheeling; turning into time:

Whirlwinds of change

Tracking a course, a claim.

Steel on asphlat,

Smoking, sparking into flame

Whirring, whizzing

To futures unseen

To where we have been

Winding bonds between

Ground and grass, dirt and disc

Air and space

Twirling, twisting-

A crescendo, a race.

Onwards, speeding,

Whistling, wheeling

Minutes of meeting,

Touching, turning

Away and as one

Meeting, parting;

Ending and renewing

The tugging and taking

Further, forward;

A journey, a tale-

Rhythm; rhyme; rail.
