The Giver of Names

A poem about feeling

The wind whispered secretively,

“Be afraid…”

And you whispered back “I will”

And this truth was locked away.

The fire roared seductively,

“Let me rage.”

And you roared back “I’m afraid”

And this truth grew stronger.

The rain asked quietly,

“Why not let go?”

And you whimpered, “I have not the strength.”

And this truth devoured.

The earth suggested subtly,

“Give your fear to me”

And you cried, “I am not ready.”

And this truth spread.

Finally you wondered,

“What if I let go?”

And the mirror replied “I wonder.”

And this truth planted.

The wind whispered secretively,

“Be Afraid.”

But you whispered back “I believe.”

And this truth blossomed.

The fire roared seductively,

”Let me rage”

But you roared back “Let’s dance together.”

And this truth ignited.

The rain asked quietly,

“Why not let go?”

But you smiled, “I have dreamt it”

And this truth shattered.

The earth suggested subtly,

“Give your fear to me.”

But you laughed, “Let us name it together.”

And this truth set you free.
