All alone in a room full of strangers
Aliases dressed up in Colored balloons
Barking warnings of impending danger
Masquerades run by paraded buffoons
Run of the mill seeking, conscience for hire
Living in bubbles oblivious to what’s going on
Fanning the flames without any fire
Changing the lyrics to an existing song
All alone in a room full of shadows
Figures and shapes with a will all their own
Black and white notes of a banjo
Mimicking music in ominous tones
The prospect of death stirs our motivation
Chastising the body to purify sight
Searching the truth to reveal clarification
Casting the darkness with the cleansing of light
Music soothes the heart of the savage
Changing us all from the consuming beast
Giving away a safe way of passage
Calming the spirit with ultimate peace

Lovely love poem!!!❤️❤️💕
You had me at "oblivious", Kelli. That's exactly how my wife describes me. I couldn't help but laugh at the next several lines as they, too, seemed remarkably apropos.
I could use some peace
Loved this!
