Manipulation

Looks Are Deceiving

I took in everything,

Your eyes,

Your body,

Your smile,

I'd never seen anyone look so innocent,

So kind,

Gentle,

Fragile,

Your eyes allured me,

They were mesmerizing,

And they made me want you,

Your smile was intoxicating,

Breathtaking,

Beautiful,

I held you,

Felt the warmth of your skin,

The beat of your heart,

The softness of your hand in mine,

You held me tight that night,

Said that you'd never let me go,

Said you'd always treat me right,

How was I supposed to know you would

be so brutal?

I woke up in the morning;

You weren't there,

All you left behind was pain in my heart,

And these scars that I still bear,,

The lesson I learned was,

Never trust anyone on the first date,

Looks are deceiving,

That's how manipulators play.
