How Colour Finds Meaning

Meaning that pleases the eye of bright reflections

How Colour Finds Meaning

Colour arrived after endurance, not before,

earning its place through restraint.

Brightness learned when to speak softly,

and darkness learned when to stay visible.

Nothing here exists to demand attention,

each shade carries intention, not excess.

The loudest tones know when to retreat,

allowing balance to lead the eye.

I once thought colour was decoration,

something added after survival.

Now I see it as a language of healing,

each hue translating what words cannot hold.

Even sorrow carries its own spectrum,

muted blues, restrained greys, softened reds.

They teach emotion how to breathe evenly,

without drowning itself in expression.

Colour learned discipline before expression,

patience before brilliance.

It waited until meaning was ready,

rather than announcing itself too soon.

What endures is never reckless with beauty,

it understands the cost of excess.

Colour remains because it honours limits,

and knows restraint sharpens impact.

This is not a celebration of surface beauty,

it is respect for emotional precision.

Colour stays
