Jewel Of The Sea
A Villanelle On Beauty
I misheard something about rosemary. The name "rosemary" derives from the Latin ros marinus ( 'dew of the sea'), but I heard it as "Jewel Of The Sea", which is just a beautiful phrase, and I believed deserved a poem worthy of the phrase.

Lovely there is always something inspirational about the sea and about those beautiful mermaids I truly believe live under the sea.
I always thought of Rosemary as the herb of remembrance..and the way my Mom cooked Easter lamb, but the stem must be the Latin ":mari". I love mermaids,,thanks for this beautiful concept! PS You love music..I think of Dylan's line about mermaids in Desolation Row, Jeff Buckley's "Song of the Siren" and Sinead Lohan's "I Am No Mermaid."
