Imagination and me

Running wild, untamed

Or

Tightly reined?

Imagination…

What to do!

Where’s my lassoooo?

Sometimes…

Imagination and I

frolic and play

giggling together the whole happy day.

But, Oh Dear Me!

On other days, we’re another cup of tea.

We’re chased by monsters and zombies and ghosts

Fleeing for our lives before they grab us by our throats.

It’s a fragile friendship we share

Imagination and I,

Clearly marked ā€œHANDLE WITH CAREā€

That, I can’t deny!

Love the different examples of your relationship with imagination! It can certainly be a complicated dynamic!

You painted a vivid picture of the relationship with imagination. I've had similar experiences. Sometimes it's all fun and games, like you said. But other times, it can be a bit scary. How do you think we can better manage those wilder, scarier moments of imagination? Also, I like how you compared it to a fragile friendship. Made me think about how we need to nurture it. Do you have any specific ways you try to keep that connection strong?
