I Wrestled The Devil

Now He Bears The Scars

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 9 months ago Updated 9 months ago 1 min read

My body's skin is just a vessel

My beauty dwells somewhere below

These scars a prize, I wrestled the devil

He bares the scars of all the blows

I fought the fight, and brought the battle

He begs for mercy from my hand

These tattoos are my armors spackle

Now I'm the master in command

I could not decide which one I should choose to make the tattoo line...I liked them all, you pick

I will have to agree with Brother Randy, as much as I like all the lines, but "I wrestled the devil He bares the scars of all the blows". just really stands out <3

  • My favourite would be the third line hehehe

  • I would choose the same line & a half you chose to reference in title & subtitle: "I wrestled the devil He bares the scars of all the blows". And so now I know from whence all these scars came. (I didn't think I'd ever gotten that close, lol.)

woo-hoo, do I just love this poem, Kelli. Hmm, "These scars a prize, I wrestled the devil" is my pick. Good luck in the challenge!
