Moments in Time

We play with moments,

like colorful marbles,

delighting in the many shades.

We gather as many as we can,

to try to save them for another day,

but before we know it they magically disappear.

Colorful butterflies,

come flitting all around,

they land on the emerald green grass.

The sea throws a wave to shore,

glittering blue green in the sun,

try as I might I cannot catch it.

We play with moments,

remembering the good times,

collecting souvenirs along the way,

finding different ways to express,

the love that we share.

Remembering the happy moments,

when love has filled our hearts,

these moments we treasure

and they will always remain in our memories.

Feeling as free as the birds on the wing,

singing happy songs as spring breezes blow,

knowing flower-filled meadows,

will once again greet,

as the days melt into summers once more.

And wouldn’t it be grand,

for some moments in time,

to step through a looking glass,

like Alice to find a wonderland,

where things are not as they should be,

but away from life’s reality,

chasing a white rabbit

and joining the Mad Hatter for tea.

Happy to be in the great blue,

clouds gather so white,

between the earth and the sky,

like great big sailing ships, they float by. 

Moments like diamonds sparkle,

leaving behind many cherished thoughts,

wishing to hold on to each moment,

before time moves on.
