Liar, liar, started a fire
You broke my broken and the flames got higher
Offered a bandaid to cover my scars
Filled it up with smoke and extinguished my stars
Pink nose and blue hearts both frozen inside
Icicle tears from the tears that I cried
Frost bite and words bite
With teeth that were smiling
One life left, eight died
The Cheshire Cat was hiding
Word rhymes, nursery rhymes
Word play for no reason
The longer the day the shorter the season
Your humor tastes funny
Funny you never made me laugh
My attitude is sunny
My dirty mind needs a bath
Enough is enough I guess that’s my two cents
If you’re looking for logic well, I’m all out of sense

This does have a nursery rhyme rhythm and punchiness to it, but also an underlying sadness. The old nursery rhymes often held hidden meaning, a joyous romp that children sang in the face of tragedies now forgotten. I don’t know if that was your intent here, but I see and feel the parallels. Really well written whatever the inspiration, Kelli!
Nice Kelli , nice. I especially like the opening lines: "Liar, liar, started a fire You broke my broken, and the flames got higher" That seems to be how it often goes!
Nonsense! This makes perfect sense as nonsense.
So many good lines in this Kelli. Especially the one life left eight died, Cheshire Cat. Clever.
Love the eccentric poem🌹
This is so different from your other poems, but great work.
