I'm In (Look what I Found)
response to M.C's "Oh, Cathy..."
I had a moment, just for me,
So, I took a little look to see
What’s new among the Vocal friends today.
When there before my bemused eyes,
From Mother C, a nice surprise,
A wee poetic game for me to play.
As she and Kelli edged me on
To join them in their lyrical jam,
I pondered, then agreed to grant their wish.
But as I sat here in this place,
My mind, a useless, empty space,
I realized this challenge is a bitch.
I couldn’t seem to find the words
To match those two poetic nerds,
I thought, perhaps, I’d wake up Abigail.
I requested that she write a poem.
She told me, bluntly, where to go,
Then hissed and swatted at me with her tail.
So, I guess, my friends, it’s up to me.
It’s what it is, and all it will be,
This mumble jumble maze of vomit prose.
I’m happy to have taken part,
I’m not quite sure I’d call it art,
But you better, or I’ll sic Abigail on you both!
