I Am An Artist.

Painting Colours & Emotions With My Paper And Pen.

By Erin ShieldsPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I am an artist,

but I don’t swirl shades

of paint upon a canvas.

-

I pick up paper and pen,

I am a wordsmith;

painting emotions upon a page

rippled with colours that’ll never fade.

-

I am an enigma,

unique in it’s own right.

You’ll never dull my light.

-

I am the harsh but sturdy cover

of a well made moleskine book;

the tool upon which I spill out

all my thoughts & feelings.

-

Only my journal knows the truth of who I really am.

During the day I hide in shades of grey.

But at night I write in bright reds, vivid yellows

and late night navy blues.

I write in all colours and hues.

-

Sometimes it holds my sadness,

other times my happiness -

My hopes, my dreams,

and all the in betweens.

-

I am complex, unsophisticated,

raw, emotional, heart on my sleeve.

I am a burning passionate red

spilling onto a page,

splattered with hints of beige.

-

I am a writer,

and this is my domain.
