During holidays as a kid I would go outside.
Blanketed by the cold and the snow outside.
Looked up to the sky and was thankful. The holidays are here.
I was oh so ready for all the holiday cheer.
My family had the kitchen going every Thanksgiving.
Turkey and cornbread what a toast to great living.
It’s easy to recollect what one would see.
Christmas lights up with presents under the tree.
My mother turned the house into a blessed good scene.
Christmas lights on the tree with house covered in red and green.
Waking up those beautiful mornings to open presents.
Every day was a gift, but life was now even more pleasant.
No one could ever take away all our holiday truth.
I’ll always remember the best days of my holiday youth.
