Some of the grassy knoll was mowed, and it was so beautiful—the natural patterns of the freshly cut grass.
Then the rest of the knoll was left untamed. This was equally beautiful and mesmerizing, as the breeze blew the green blades of grass back and forth.
With a gentle force of energy, the vision walked slowly among the shadows and spirits, moving gracefully across the blades of grass, whispering psalms of peace and courage.
The misunderstood beauty, overlooked, is found between the flowing blades of grass and the patterns of the freshly cut.
And it’s okay, because we are family. We’re from the same cut of grass.

You are nature lover and mindful observer, like me.
-the vision walked slowly among the shadows and spirits, moving gracefully across the blades of grass, whispering psalms of peace and courage.- Nice Line!!! 🤩
You pictured this beautifully in my mind, I can smell the cut grass and watch nature live in harmony.
‘The grassy knoll’ caught my attention too. Dharrsheena said exactly what I was about to, except she had a few extra ooooos!🤣 Fabulous poem. I love that you made grass so profound!
Love the metaphor! Both are beautiful! And the scent of freshly mowed grass is a wonderful scent!
This reminds me of sitting outside on a warm spring day for the first time in awhile and smelling that fresh cut grass! Also like the strong sense of unity in this. We are indeed from the same cut of grass as we are all only human.
Why is it when you say "grassy knoll" I hear something other than peace & courage?
I was thinking JFK assassination, too...but then the thoughts and words became such a lesson on how to look at the beauty in differences. Love it
This captures both the wild and the tended sides of life so well. I love the thought that we’re all from the same cut of grass.
That's some thoughtful stuff.
We can even smell the calm
This was so calm and soulful! That last line? "We're from the same cut of grass." — absolutely heart-hugging stuff! ✨
This was soooo beautifully profound! Loved it so much!
I want to know just who was ON that grassy knoll, because it sure wasn't some punk named Oswald, man! ;-) You know, behind the fence, firing at the Lincoln as it turned and headed toward the triple underpass.
This is Beautiful! Is the vision representing Christ when He was on earth?
So simple, so beautiful
