Present me with a garden,
A riot of difference
And tell me how there is no trouble here
When everything is so unique?
Nature is showing us the way.
She points to how it works.
So I ask:
When did man become unnatural?
Why set ourselves apart
When we can be within
The garden itself
And part of something beautiful?

A delightful poem… Like D.K., I love the “riot of difference’… it makes like so much more interesting.
The line "A riot of difference" is probably one of the most wonderful descriptors I've ever come across! Loved the message of this one! Beautiful work, Rachel!
This is beautiful and insightful, Rachel! I love it!
We can be within the garden when we're buried in it. It can even be done when we're alive, lol. Loved your poem!
Such a deep question! It kind of reminded me of the Adam and Eve story.
This is amazing but this line? "When did man become unnatural?" Stunning!! That's going to stick with me. Great job!
Gosh - you’ve managed to write “this is why we can’t have nice things” so beautifully and well. This was fab Rachel.
Where we may dirty our hands & no one scolds but rather celebrates the marvel.
Wonderful poem, and I agree with the sentiment that humans lost their way, but having faced off hordes of squash beetles, vine borers, and slugs not sure I can agree with “there is no trouble here.” 😄
Love love love love love! This so elegantly asks such a thoughtful and necessary question. When did humans stop becoming natural. lovely work!
When did we think ourselves the spider and not the web 🤔 Thanks for pointing me to the challenge 😁
