Grabbing my camera for a casual walk,
My friend calls, she needs to talk.
I open the door and what do I see?
She’s brought flowers, an arm load and hands them to me.
For being a friend, she says with as she hugs.
I forget my walk that promised the woods full of bugs.
We sit and sip tea for an hour or more,
Then she stands and heads to the front door.
I’m wondering now, what I had planned
As I walk in my backyard towards the beach and the sand.
I look at the sky and the birds flying by.
What was I doing? Who knows, I sigh.
I’ll sit on my porch, that’s all I need.
But I’ll pick up my book and continue to read.

Your words remind us that plans can wait, but friendship should always take priority. Such a comforting message.
Such splendid, wonderful, peaceful days when friends are all you need. Such a heartwarming poem, so full of emotion.
Some days are just like like that!💕
I love how fun this was. How amazingly heartwarming too. The friend. The casual walk. Life taking you off track. But then there in the end. You finally got back to the book and continued to read. Oh I loved this. Just the kind of vibe I wanted 🤗❤️
That is a pleasant interruption to have, and a lovely poem
Ideas and things come and go but friendships are forever more.
