I've written many letters, trying to find hope.
Perhaps someone would listen - someone who's gained my vote.
My congressman or mayor, legislators, too,
Mentioning my problems to see what they would do.
It's almost re-election time, "Can't start new projects now.
Get in touch in January; we'll try to help, somehow."
But when the new year rolls around and January's begun,
Will I still look for answers? From someone? Anyone?
I'm told the new year's difficult; They must get settled in
To the office that I was a help in getting them to win.
So, now I'm writing once again my letters of distress,
But not to politicians. They can't read SOS!!

Lol, I especially loved that ending. This was brilliant!
Your honest letters echo our collective hope and frustration so relatable and deeply moving. Thank you.
All I can say is "Good one." All we can do is PRAY. Good work.
