Evil Is A Hunter

And He Is More Than Camouflaged

He never left the office

but that did not stop his hunts

He crept the shadows, cautious

all it took was just a touch

He ran his fingers cross the keyboard

double clicked, and there they were

The prey that he had searched for

within his grasp, around the world

He picked her eyes color

her hair and size too

He chose her above the others

cause she looked harder to pursue

Her body fit and active

she lived in her house, alone

She would make the perfect captive

Now, how to get her to his home

He called in a couple favors

from some guys he'd known before

He signed a couple waivers

next thing, came a knock on his door

There she was, wrapped in a blanket

her hair askue from the rains

Like a gift, she'd be the banquet

the guys left, once they'd been paid

He sat for hours, watching her sleeping

he wanted so, to wake her up

And when she woke, she started weeping

trying to figure out where she was

He kept her tied up, in the basement

three weeks went by, and nobody knew

The things that go on in others places

normal neighborhoods, and the things people do

One night after midnight, she loosened her restraints

she snuck up the stairs and slowly opened the door

She was so afraid that she nearly fainted

the coast was clear, so she tiptoed cross the floor

She quickly picked up the landline and dialed 911

he woke to sirens and flashing lights in his eyes

Denying that he had done anything wrong

they took his computer and revealed his lies

There are dangers that lurk in the dark of the night

there are dangers that appear to be harmless

From the click of a mouse or the tip of a knife

there is evil, and it is among us

surreal poetryfact or fiction

Great take on the challenge, Kelli. I assume you submitted it for the challenge.

I am so glad of the ending. Evil finally caught. She was so courageous. Excellent work. I was so captivated and scared of a bad outcome to the lady character in the story.
